DFW GM News: GM Invests in Arlington, TX Plant

Arlington GM plant, Buick dealer dallas, buick dealer fort worth, dallas Buick Dealer, dallas fort worth used car, Dallas GMC Dealer, dallas GMC Truck, dallas new car, dallas Used Car, dallas Used Truck, dfw driving, fort worth Buick dealer, freeman grapevine, GMC Dealer, GMC TruckThere has been something that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately, and I think you should consider thinking about it too. That is, thinking about how important the auto industry is to local economies. Here’s something that some of you may have known, but some may not. GM has a large manufacturing plant just down the road in Arlington, TX. It manufacturers next generation of full-size Chevrolet Tahoes, Suburbans, GMC Yukons and Cadillac Escalades. This plant is integral to the economy of the Arlington, TX area which, in turn, affects the entirety of the DFW Metroplex. Sot, when you buy a GM vehicle, you are investing in your own backyard. So just keep that in mind when you are choosing your next vehicle. There’s no doubt that Texans love their GM vehicles, because GM has been  watching and has responded by investing more into the plant.

According to egmcartech.com

GM announced today that it is starting construction next week on its new $200 million facility that will create around 180 jobs.

“Our investment in GM’s Arlington plant is one more example of GM strengthening the economy and creating jobs throughout the many U.S. communities where GM does business,” said GM Manufacturing Manager Larry Zahner.

GM’s new investment in the facility is on top of a $331 million investment to purchase tooling and equipment and expand the Arlington Assembly Plant that was announced along with 110 additional jobs in May 2011.

When you but GM you are not only buying a great vehicle, but you are also investing directly back into our community. Help GM help us…come and take a look at some amazing GM vehicles right here at Freeman Grapevine. The more the demand the more chance we can keep money flowing into our metroplex.

Buick Dealer Dallas Says: You Can Control Gas Prices

gas price decline, Buick dealer dallas, buick dealer fort worth, car accident info, dallas Buick Dealer, dallas fort worth used car, Dallas GMC Dealer, dallas GMC Truck, dallas new car, dallas Used Car, dallas Used Truck, dfw driving, eassist, fort worth Buick dealer, freeman grapevine, GMC Dealer, GMC TruckHere’s something I was just thinking about and wanted to share. How and why do gas prices rise and fall. Freeman Grapevine supplies companies with fleet vehicles, we sell work trucks and larger, family sized SUVS. For each one of those entities, the cost of fuel directly affects them the most because of their size and engine requirements. Make no mistake though, the fuel economy of larger GM Vehicles is up there, if not better than, our closest competitors.

So, why are gas prices going back up? They we’re at their highest in 2008 when the price per gallon was over $4 here in Grapevine Texas. In California and parts of Colorado (and other places, I’m sure) it was over $5. It a combination of things I think. Additional tension in the Middle East with Iran can cut it’s oil supplies to the US and other European countries. Also, there is further economical tension overseas, in Greece needs a bailout and Europe has a debt crisis that adds to the uncertainty.

So, what can we do to facilitate another drop in gas prices? Two things can happen, but only one we can do ourselves. The oil industry increases supply and demand by further exploration. I’ve heard that has already been proposed in regards to Arctic regions. Of course, we have the ongoing battle of tapping reserves in Alaska and further exploring the Gulf of Mexico.

or,

We can drive less.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying don’t the that GMC Yukon Denali, by all means, get it, it’s a beautiful vehicle. What I’m saying is plan a little more to use your vehicle a little less.

When gas prices were at their peak, it was limiting the use of our vehicles that drove the prices down. Why? Obviously, supply was exceeding demand and it started a price war. It’s a very simple concept. Make the gas companies fight for your vehicle’s fuel supply. There’s no need for anything drastic that you aren’t already doing…except drive less. Make a home cooked meal instead of going to a restaurant. Carpool. Stream a movie instead of going to a theater. Oh, and I’m sure Fido would love to go on a walk, or two.

There is some good news on the issues we can’t control too. You see, economies operate like a sine curve. There are peaks and valleys of growth and decline, it’s just how capitalism works. There are good signs that we are at the beginning of a recovery. There are good signs that Europe’s debt crisis is easing and Greece’s pending bailout deal is easing financial nerves.

So, with us driving just a bit less, maybe we can initiate another gas war and help drive gas prices down. Remember, I’m a Grapevine, Tx car dealer, selling cars and trucks is my livelihood. However, I also want my customers to be informed so everyone can have the vehicles they really want.

The car that will get you a whole bunch more miles per gallon…and it’s not a hybrid. Did you know that the 2012 Buick Regal with eAssist Technology gives your customers an estimated 25% more miles per gallon?

According to AutoBlog.com:

…the addition of eAssist to the Regal’s 2.4-liter inline-four powertrain means that the sedan is now capable of achieving 26 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. Like the LaCrosse, the Regal eAssist uses a compact electric motor and state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery to a 2.4L four-cylinder ECOTEC engine, improving fuel economy by an estimated 25%. When combined with things like regenerative braking and automatic start/stop, it means a substantial increase in fuel economy.

That’s some significant improvement in by book. See, there’s hope on the horizon, finally a car to help battle the steadily high gas prices…and don’t call it a hybrid. The 2012 Buick Regal eAssist is a sedan with “light electrification technology,” GM says.

And this is directly off of Buick.com

The standard 2.4L ECOTEC VVT 4-Cylinder engine delivers sport-injected performance along with the precise, agile handling that has made the Regal luxury sport sedan a favorite of owners and experts alike. Three additional engine choices give you the option to focus on what matters most to you—be it pulse-quickening performance, extraordinary efficiency, or combination of both.

How can you NOT want to come and test drive the 2012 Buick Regal at Freeman Grapevine right this second? I think I’ll go take one for a spin.

Some of our changes  include an exterior facelift with new signage, a station designated for greeting guest upon arrival, a bright, airy atmosphere, and a lounge that includes free Wi-Fi, along with other perks.

We are noticing that a lot of new Buck and GMC’s consumers coming from automakers outside of GM’s labels and the brand decided to do the update as a way to cater to this market.

This is a direct quote from Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Buick & GMC Sales and Service:

“Luxury shoppers today expect a certain level of treatment when purchasing a vehicle,” said . “Those expectations are now being met at many Buick and GMC stores around the country. These aren’t just new faces on old buildings. We’re creating the complete and convenient dealership experience that attracts these buyers.” [source egmcartech]

Freeman Grapevine: It’s almost time for some Spring Cleaning

clean car, dallas Buick Dealer, dallas fort worth used car, Dallas GMC Dealer, dallas GMC Truck, dallas new car, dallas Used Car, dallas Used Truck, dfw driving, GMC Dealer, GMC Truck, new carSo far, North Texas hasn’t really had much of a winter. In fact, it’s been extremely mild compared to last year’s snow day which dropped 15″ of snow at Freeman Grapevine. I guess we should be happy about that though…we’re not used to driving in weather like that. So, as Spring quickly approaches it is time to do a good thorough spring cleaning on your Buick, or GMC. We’re talking inside and out with a good washing and a brand new coat of wax.

If I we you, I’d start on the interior of your Buick, or GMC first. Start by getting rid of all the trash, cleaning of the dash, and getting a heavy duty vacuum to get to all those hard to reach places. Everyone knows that washing your car in the winter cold is the last thing on your mind, so I know some of you out there have a lot of work to do.

The second thing you will want to do give your car a good wash and wax. Did you know that the sun can actually make the paint on your car soften a bit? That will leave your car susceptible to scratches and no one wants scratches on their new or used Buick, or GMC. Make sure that when you are washing and waxing your car you do so in the shade and not a sun drenched area.

Here are some other tips:

  • Use a lamb’s-wool mitt for washing and soft cotton rags or microfiber towels for waxing.
  • Do not use rags for washing; they can trap dirt and scratch the finish. Likewise, synthetic fabrics and brushes can also scratch a car’s finish.
  • Wash and wax in small sections. This saves time and if the wax stays on too long, it can be difficult to remove.
  • Our previous tests have shown that paste waxes are easiest to apply, but contrary to what you might think, they don’t offer as much protection as liquid products. Spray on/wipe off quick shine products are easiest to use, but our tests have shown they don’t provide much protection at all.

Once you are done with all of that you will be ready to cruise the streets of DFW in your clean car! It’s kind of a “no-brainer”, but if you happen to have any questions, call Freeman Grapevine, and we’ll tell you how we keep our new and used cars spotless.
